INTRO TO LIGHTROOM
This online workshop is suitable for beginners and those who already enjoy processing photographs in the digital darkroom but wish to understand the decision making process when choosing which of the main editing tools to use and to improve their overall editing skills.
This 3-hour workshop will be tailored to beginners and enthusiasts. We will look at the main editing tools in Lightroom. Val will demonstrate her editing process in real time for a range of image types: landscape, portrait, wildlife etc. You have the opportunity to edit a number of your own images in live time as guided by Val.
At the end of the session you will have an understanding of Val’s editing process, in the order she recommends using the key tools for a range of image types and you will be more confident about tackling editing in Lightroom on your own going forwards. The workshop includes a handout with Val’s editing process outlined and, if you wish, a recording of the session.
Lightroom Classic is an amazing piece of software enabling images to be powerfully edited in line with your vision when you pressed the shutter. Raw files, just like the old film days, need to be processed or developed and, like the film days, it is a separate skill that needs to be acquired to do justice to your images.
Some people enjoy spending hours processing a single image file. Personally Val believes an image can be polished and ready to share online or in print within just a few minutes provided one knows which processing steps are appropriate and how to tackle them.
